GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels: What You Pay For
ClickFunnels Launch and GoHighLevel Starter both cost $97 a month, and they cap different things. One publishes a contact and send ceiling on every row; the other prints unlimited and moves the bill to telecom and AI usage. Every figure here comes from the two pricing pages, read on October 11, 2026.
This article is a documentation review: it is based on the vendors' own published pages, checked on the date shown. We may earn a commission from some links; it never affects what we recommend.
Both platforms list a $97 plan, and the $97 buys opposite things. ClickFunnels Launch caps the list and the team: 10,000 contacts, 50,000 emails a month, 2 team members, 1 workspace. GoHighLevel Starter prints unlimited contacts and unlimited users, then moves the bill to usage for phone numbers, SMS, email sends and premium AI. One page tells you your ceiling before you sign. The other tells you the ceiling arrives as an invoice. Every figure below comes from the two vendors' own pricing pages, read on October 11, 2026.
At $97 a month the two plans meter opposite things
ClickFunnels Launch is $97 a month billed monthly, or $81 a month billed annually with the page printing "Save $194/year". GoHighLevel Starter is listed as "$97 /Month" or "$970 /Year".
The rows underneath diverge immediately. Launch lists "10K Contacts", "50K Emails/Mo", "2 Team Members" and "1 Workspace (Sub-Account)". GoHighLevel Starter lists "3 Sub-Accounts" and, across all three published plans, "Unlimited contacts, unlimited Users".
So the same number buys a metered marketing platform on one side and an unmetered agency container on the other. Which is cheaper depends almost entirely on whether the business sends its own email at volume.
That is the kind of question a feature table will not answer, which is why the pricing page reading order starts with the billing unit rather than the feature list.
ClickFunnels prints a number on almost every row
Contacts run 10K, 75K, 150K and 400K across Launch, Scale, Optimize and Dominate. Monthly email allowances on the same four plans run 50K, 300K, 750K and 1.2M, per the pricing page checked October 11, 2026.
Team members run 2, 5, 10 and 20. Workspaces, which the page labels sub-accounts, run 1, 5, 10 and 20. Courses run 3, 6, 10 and 20.
Custom domains are capped at 5 on Launch and listed as unlimited above it. The AI tools row is metered in words rather than seats: 1M, 2M, 5M and 10M a month by tier.
Dominate is sold annually only, at $5,997 a year. The page offers a "14-day trial" and a "30-day money back guarantee" on the monthly and annual plans.
One thing the page does not supply is a definition for the contact row, which is the row that forces most upgrades. The order to read that row in is set out in our funnel builder pricing page guide.
GoHighLevel prints unlimited, then charges for what you send
Starter is $97 a month with "3 Sub-Accounts". Unlimited is $297 a month and Agency Pro $497 a month, both carrying "Unlimited Sub-Accounts". Enterprise is quoted by sales only.
The page's own qualifier is the line that decides the real bill: "There are usage-based costs for telecommunications and AI services," covering "phone numbers, SMS (text messaging), emails sent, and premium AI usage."
Email sending is therefore not bundled the way ClickFunnels bundles 50,000 sends on Launch. The pricing page publishes no per-email or per-message rate, so the cost of a campaign cannot be estimated from it before signup.
API access is the other graded row: "Basic API Access" on Unlimited and "Advanced API Access" on Agency Pro. Starter lists neither, checked October 11, 2026.
An unlimited contact row still has to be sized, because on this platform the send cost scales with it. Doing that count inside the trial rather than after it is day one of the fourteen-day trial checklist.
Both give fourteen days; only ClickFunnels publishes a refund window
GoHighLevel's page reads "Start Your 14 Day Free Trial Today!" and warns that "Billing begins automatically at the end of any free trial unless canceled."
ClickFunnels lists the same trial length and adds a "30-day money back guarantee". No equivalent money-back wording was readable on the GoHighLevel pricing page on October 11, 2026.
That gap matters more than it looks. Fourteen days is a short window in which to import a real list, connect a real domain and push a live purchase through checkout, which is what the free trial checklist schedules day by day.
Editorial arithmetic on the two annual prices
GoHighLevel's annual figures are exactly ten times its monthly ones: $970, $2,970 and $4,970 against $97, $297 and $497. Ten payments covering twelve months is two months free. That multiplication is ours, taken from the published figures.
ClickFunnels is less tidy. At $97 and $81 a month, twelve months apart is $192, while the page prints "Save $194/year". The rounded per-month figure does not reproduce the stated total, so confirm the exact charge at checkout.
Neither discrepancy is large. Both are a reminder that the headline on a pricing card and the number on the invoice are produced by different systems, and only one of them is binding.
Choose one or the other
- Choose ClickFunnels if the business sends its own email at volume. 50,000 sends a month on Launch and 300,000 on Scale are inside the subscription, per the pricing page checked October 11, 2026.
- Choose ClickFunnels if you want a published ceiling. Nearly every row that matters carries a number, which makes a surprise invoice harder to arrange.
- Choose GoHighLevel if you run client accounts. Three sub-accounts on Starter and unlimited above it replaces the row ClickFunnels prices at 1, 5, 10 and 20 workspaces.
- Choose GoHighLevel if seat count is the constraint. Unlimited users on all three plans replaces ClickFunnels' 2, 5, 10 and 20 team members.
- Skip both entry tiers if SMS or phone is central. GoHighLevel bills those as usage with no published rate, and ClickFunnels does not list them as included channels.
- Treat either annual plan as a twelve-month commitment to one ceiling. On ClickFunnels the contact cap is part of the plan, so the cap is locked for the term.
Testing that list of conditions takes longer than the trial allows unless it is scheduled, which is the argument for working through the fourteen-day testing plan rather than exploring the builder.
Frequently asked questions
Is GoHighLevel really unlimited?
Its pricing page prints "Unlimited contacts, unlimited Users" on all three published plans, checked October 11, 2026. The same page states there are usage-based costs for phone numbers, SMS, emails sent and premium AI, so sending is metered even when storing contacts is not.
How much email does ClickFunnels include?
Launch includes "50K Emails/Mo", Scale 300K, Optimize 750K and Dominate 1.2M, per the pricing page checked October 11, 2026. Contact caps on the same four rows are 10K, 75K, 150K and 400K.
Which is cheaper for a one-person business?
On the subscription line they tie at $97 a month. ClickFunnels Launch is cheaper in practice once you send more than a few thousand emails a month, because GoHighLevel bills email sends as usage and publishes no rate.
Can I run client accounts on ClickFunnels?
Yes, as workspaces: 1 on Launch, 5 on Scale, 10 on Optimize, 20 on Dominate. GoHighLevel prints 3 sub-accounts on Starter and unlimited on Unlimited and Agency Pro, which is cheaper past about five clients.
Do both offer a free trial?
Both publish fourteen days. GoHighLevel adds that "Billing begins automatically at the end of any free trial unless canceled." ClickFunnels also publishes a 30-day money back guarantee; no equivalent wording was readable on GoHighLevel's page.
What is the cheapest ClickFunnels plan with full API access?
Scale, at $197 a month or $164 billed annually. The pricing page lists "Webhooks/Full API Access" and the custom code editor from Scale upward, and not on Launch, checked October 11, 2026.
Bottom line
These are not two prices for the same product. ClickFunnels sells a metered marketing stack with the ceiling printed on the page. GoHighLevel sells an unmetered container with the meter moved to telecom and AI.
Price it on the row the business actually consumes. If that row is email volume, ClickFunnels publishes the number. If it is client accounts and seats, GoHighLevel removes the cap outright.
Before committing to either annual plan, work through the rows in the order set out in how to read a funnel builder pricing page, then do the list import inside the trial rather than after it.
