How Funnel Tool Sub-Accounts Are Priced
Three funnel platforms meter client accounts three different ways: a tier ladder, a workspace count, and no limit at all. The per-sub-account add-ons are where the agency bill actually grows. Figures read from the vendors' pricing pages on October 25, 2026.
This article is a documentation review: it is based on the vendors' own published pages, checked on the date shown. We may earn a commission from some links; it never affects what we recommend.
If you run funnels for more than one brand, the row that decides your bill is not contacts or funnels. It is the one counting separate accounts, and the three vendors below meter it in three unrelated ways.
GoHighLevel sells the count as a tier. ClickFunnels sells it as workspaces. Systeme.io states it does not limit it at all. Every number here was read from the vendors' own pricing pages on October 25, 2026.
GoHighLevel turns the sub-account count into the whole price ladder
HighLevel's three published plans are Starter at $97 per month, Unlimited at $297 and Agency Pro at $497. The annual column on the same cards reads $970, $2,970 and $4,970 per year.
The Starter card lists "3 Sub-Accounts". The Unlimited card lists "Unlimited Sub-Accounts". Agency Pro adds "SaaS Mode" and "Automated Sub-Account Creation". All three cards list unlimited contacts and unlimited users.
The page's FAQ says the same thing in words. It states that the difference between the two cheaper plans "is the number of Sub-Accounts you can manage", and that Starter is "limited to 3 Sub-Accounts".
That makes the fourth client the expensive one. Going from three accounts to four moves you from $97 to $297 per month, which our arithmetic puts at $2,400 more per year at monthly rates.
Rebilling is the other thing the tier buys. Unlimited lists "Rebill Phone & Email (no markup)". Agency Pro lists "Rebill Phone & Email with Markup". Those usage charges are the subject of how SMS credits are priced in funnel tools.
On GoHighLevel the add-ons, not the plan, scale with client count
The optional add-on list prices eight items per sub-account rather than per agency. That is the line to read twice, because it means each new client raises the bill even on the Unlimited plan.
- AI Employee Growth Plan: $50/month per sub-account. AI Employee Unlimited Plan: $97/month per sub-account.
- Branded Client Portal App: $49/month per sub-account.
- SEO, powered by Search Atlas: $79/month per sub-account.
- Online listings management: $30/month per sub-account. Premium prospecting tool: $29/month per sub-account.
- WhatsApp integration: $10/month per sub-account. WordPress hosting: "Starts at $10/month per site".
- Billed per agency instead: dedicated email IPs at $59/month per IP, HIPAA compliance at $297/month, premium support at $500/month, white label mobile app at $497/month.
Our arithmetic on the published rates: ten clients on the Branded Client Portal App is $490 per month, which is more than the $297 Unlimited plan carrying them. Add SEO for the same ten and it is another $790.
The add-on note says most of these "can be resold with your own markup in the Agency Pro plan". That is a revenue argument, not a cost reduction, and it only applies on the $497 tier.
ClickFunnels counts brand workspaces, and stops at 20
ClickFunnels calls the same idea a Brand Workspace, with the tooltip "Create a workspace for every brand so you and your team can stay organized." The row reads 1, 5, 10 and 20 across the four plans.
Those plans are Launch at $97 per month, Scale at $197, Optimize at $297, and Dominate at $5,997 per year. The annual rates on the first three cards are $81, $164 and $248 per month.
Team Members follow the same shape: 2, 5, 10 and 20. So a workspace and a seat move together, and one person cannot be stretched across more brands than the plan allows.
There is no unlimited option. The top of the ladder is 20 workspaces, and reaching it means the annually-only Dominate plan. The rest of that ladder is laid out in GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels plans.
Contacts move with the workspace count too, from 10K on Launch to 400K on Dominate. What those contact numbers actually meter is covered in what a funnel builder's contact limit counts.
Systeme.io says sub-accounts are unlimited on every plan, free included
The systeme.io comparison table has a Sub-accounts row reading Unlimited across Free, Startup, Webinar and Unlimited. The published monthly prices for those four are $0, $17, $47 and $97.
The row carries two explanatory notes. The first: "every plan allows you to create unlimited sub-accounts. Each sub-account is a fully fledged systeme.io account with its own full set of limits".
The second is more specific. It states the limits per sub-account "are the same as those of your main account's plan, at no extra cost", and gives the example that a 50-funnel plan gives each sub-account 50 funnels.
Read against the plan rows, that is a large claim. The Webinar plan lists 50 sales funnels, 100 automation rules, 10 custom domains and 10,000 contacts, and the note says each sub-account repeats that set.
Assistant accounts are listed as Unlimited on all four plans as well, so seats are not the brake either. The page describes annual billing as "2 months free" but printed no annual dollar total on our read.
We did not verify the sub-account behaviour inside a live account, and the claim is the vendor's own. Treat it the way we treat every other absolute on these pages, as set out in unlimited funnels is not an unlimited plan.
Three rows to price before you sign an agency plan
- The count itself, and the cost of the next one. On HighLevel the fourth client costs $200 more per month; on ClickFunnels the second brand costs $100 more.
- Every add-on billed per sub-account, multiplied by the client list you expect in twelve months, not the one you have.
- Whether client accounts inherit the parent plan's limits or share them. Systeme.io states inheritance; the other two publish a single shared allowance.
The cheapest published route to more than three client accounts, across these three pages on October 25, 2026, is systeme.io Startup at $17 per month. The feature trade behind that figure is set out in ClickFunnels vs Systeme.io plans.
Frequently asked questions
How many sub-accounts does GoHighLevel Starter include?
Three. The Starter card lists "3 Sub-Accounts" at $97 per month, and the page FAQ repeats that Starter is limited to three. Unlimited Sub-Accounts begin on the $297 per month plan.
What is a Brand Workspace in ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels' name for a separate brand inside one account. The comparison row reads 1, 5, 10 and 20 workspaces across Launch, Scale, Optimize and Dominate, with team members at 2, 5, 10 and 20.
Does Systeme.io charge for sub-accounts?
The pricing page says no. Its Sub-accounts row reads Unlimited on all four plans, including the $0 Free plan, and the note states each sub-account gets the parent plan's limits at no extra cost.
Is GoHighLevel SaaS Mode needed to resell accounts?
The page lists SaaS Mode and Automated Sub-Account Creation only on Agency Pro at $497 per month. The Unlimited plan at $297 lists unlimited sub-accounts but rebilling without markup.
Which add-ons are charged per client account?
On HighLevel's list: AI Employee at $50 or $97, Branded Client Portal App at $49, SEO at $79, listings at $30, prospecting at $29 and WhatsApp at $10, all per month per sub-account.
Bottom line
Count your clients, then count the add-ons you will switch on for each of them. The plan price is the smaller number on an agency bill once six or more accounts carry a $49 or $79 per-account item.
If the client list is short and fixed, ClickFunnels' workspace ladder is predictable. If it grows, the per-account add-ons are what to model. Confirm each figure at checkout, since all three pages change without notice.
One more habit worth keeping: read the add-on list before the plan cards. It is where these pages hide their real unit of pricing, which is the point made in how to read a funnel builder pricing page.
