Gamma Review: What Each Plan Costs and What Credits Buy

Gamma turns a prompt into a deck, a document or a published site, and meters the work in credits. The pricing page opens on the annual toggle, so the number on the card is not the number a monthly subscriber pays. Every figure here was read from Gamma’s own pages on October 28, 2026.

Gamma Review: What Each Plan Costs and What Credits Buy

Gamma generates presentations, documents, websites and social posts from a prompt, then meters every AI action in credits. Four individual tiers run from $0 to $100 a seat a month. Every figure here was read from Gamma’s own pages on October 28, 2026.

Two things decide the bill, and neither is the number printed largest on the card. The first is which billing toggle you are looking at. The second is how many credits your work actually burns.

One note on method before the numbers. Gamma prices by region, and the same page served to our own browser returned Vietnamese dong. Every dollar figure below comes from a US view of the page. Check Gamma’s current plans before budgeting against anything here.

The price on the card is the annual rate, not the monthly one

The pricing page opens on Pay annually. In that state the cards read $0, $9, $18 and $90 per seat per month, with the annual totals printed underneath: $108, $216 and $1,080 per seat.

Click Pay monthly and the same three cards read $12, $25 and $100. Nothing else on the cards changes. The credits, the slide limits and the domain counts are identical on both toggles.

The banner above the toggle says Save up to 28% with annual billing. That is true of exactly one plan. Our arithmetic on the published pairs gives 25% on Plus, 28% on Pro and 10% on Ultra.

An Ultra buyer who locks in a year to chase the headline discount gets a tenth off, not a quarter. The habit of reading the toggle before the number is the one set out in annual versus monthly billing.

Credits are the meter, and Gamma does not publish a rate card

Every paid plan carries a monthly credit allowance: 1,000 on Plus, 4,000 on Pro, 20,000 on Ultra and 10,000 per seat on Business. Free accounts get 400 credits at signup that, in Gamma’s own words, “do not refill”.

What those credits buy is the part no page pins down. The help centre says generation is “metered per slide and per image”, and that cost varies with the model, the length and the complexity of the generation.

There is no table anywhere on gamma.app giving a credit price for one deck. The nearest thing to a published rate is the image generator, which Gamma says shows the credit cost of each model before you generate.

So you cannot price a month of Gamma in advance from the website. You can only price the ceiling: the plan allowance plus whatever top-ups you buy. Credit meters behave the same way in what ElevenLabs credits cost.

Credits per dollar is still comparable across tiers. Our arithmetic on the annual rates gives roughly 111 credits per dollar on Plus, 222 on Pro, 222 on Ultra and 250 per seat on Business.

Pro therefore buys twice the AI per dollar that Plus does at the same billing cadence. A Plus subscriber who regularly runs out is paying the worst rate on the page for the privilege of a cheaper line item.

Unused plan credits roll over, but only “up to 2× the monthly amount”, which the pricing FAQ illustrates with Plus holding a maximum of 2,000. Purchased top-up credits are tracked separately and do not count toward that cap.

The draw order matters for a team. Gamma says AI features consume plan credits first, then purchased credits, then workspace credits where a plan has them. Price your own volume on Gamma’s plan page before committing to a seat count.

What the paid tiers gate is branding, domains and image models

The feature ladder is short and legible. Free covers simple presentations, docs, websites, social posts and images, with import from PDF and PPTX and export to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides.

Plus at $12 adds the thousand credits, raises the slide ceiling from 10 to 100 per prompt, removes Gamma branding from what you publish, and unlocks what the page calls advanced AI image models.

Pro at $25 is where a business-facing deck starts to make sense. It adds premium image models, custom branding, detailed analytics with advanced sharing, and publishing to up to 10 custom domains.

Ultra at $100 is a usage tier rather than a feature tier. The headline is 20× the AI usage of Plus, access to the most advanced text, image and video models, 100 custom domains and early access to new features.

Note what is not gated. Export to PowerPoint and PDF sits on Free. So does import. So does the API. The paywall here is around volume, branding and model quality, not around getting your work out of the tool.

That is a different shape from the funnel platforms we usually read, where the entry tier withholds the feature you actually came for. The pattern is set out in the landing page builder entry tier.

Business at $40 a seat is billed annually and pools credits

The pricing page has a second tab. Business reads $40 per seat per month, $480 per seat billed annually, with a seat counter on the card. There is no monthly toggle on that tab at all.

The Business tab: $40 per seat per month, $480 per seat billed annually, beside a Custom Enterprise card. Source: gamma.app/pricing, captured October 28, 2026.

Business lists 10,000 monthly credits per seat, shared workspace credits for extra usage, SSO authentication, SOC 2 documentation on request, access to the most advanced AI models and advanced data controls.

The help centre adds the detail the card leaves out. Business is billed annually per member, seats are purchased upfront, and the training opt-out is locked for the whole workspace rather than left to each member.

Credit pooling is the genuine team feature. Each member draws their own seat credits first, then the shared workspace pool, which admins fund through one-time purchases or auto-recharge from billing settings.

Compare that with individual paid plans, where the FAQ says you are charged for each extra seat the moment an invitee accepts. Seat arithmetic decides more plan choices than feature lists do, as in how funnel tool sub-accounts are priced.

Enterprise is quoted as Custom on an annual agreement, adding custom credits, advanced admin controls, connector and API governance, SCIM provisioning, purchase orders and dedicated onboarding. See how the seat counter prices your team.

The API and MCP server are open on every plan, including Free

Gamma’s developer docs state that API keys are available on all plans including Free, and that usage is limited by your credits and your plan’s limits rather than by a separate API tier.

The hosted MCP server at mcp.gamma.app is described as usable on any plan by clients that support OAuth with dynamic client registration. That is unusually open for a tool that meters everything else in credits.

One detail is useful for anyone automating. Completed and failed generation responses report credits.deducted for that job and credits.remaining for the balance, so a script can measure the per-deck cost the website never prints.

The product page lists Zapier, Make, Workato and n8n as no-code routes in. For a funnel operator that puts deck generation in the same automation layer as the chat flows in the Manychat review.

The refund window is three days wide and credit-capped

Gamma’s refund article sets two conditions at once. The request must arrive within three days of subscribing, and your credit usage must still be under a per-plan threshold. Miss either and the subscription is not refundable.

Source: Gamma’s refund policy article, dated September 24, 2026 and read October 28, 2026. The table is reproduced as published, including the Team row, which does not appear anywhere on the current pricing page.

Read that against the product. Three days is a short window for a tool whose value only shows up when you push a real deck through it, and heavy trial use is exactly what voids the refund.

The safer sequence is the free tier first. Four hundred credits with no card and no time limit is enough to see whether the output survives a client’s eyes, which is the logic of the funnel builder free trial checklist.

What this review does not cover

Nothing here comes from inside a paid Gamma account. No generation speed, output quality, theme fidelity or export accuracy is tested, and no claim is made about how a given deck looks when it lands.

The per-action credit cost is the largest gap, and it is Gamma’s gap rather than ours. Without a published rate card, nobody can calculate a monthly bill from the website before paying for the first month.

Customer counts, awards and review-site ratings are not cited here because the pricing page does not publish any. The SOC 2 Type II claim is Gamma’s own, pointed at its trust centre, and is not independently verified in this article.

Top-up pricing is also unreadable from the public help centre: the article on purchasing credits names the section “How much do credit purchases cost?” but the figures sit behind an expander that did not render on October 28, 2026.

Reading a plan page for what it declines to print is the method set out in how to read a funnel builder pricing page, and the vocabulary problem it creates is covered in what “unlimited” means on a plan page.

Who each plan fits

  • Free at $0 fits the evaluation. 400 credits, no card, no time limit, 10 slides per prompt, plus PDF and PPTX export and an API key. Credits never refill, so it is one honest look rather than a running free tier.
  • Plus at $12 monthly, $9 annually fits a solo operator who mainly needs Gamma branding off the deck. At 1,000 credits it is the weakest credits-per-dollar on the page, so it suits light, occasional use only.
  • Pro at $25 monthly, $18 annually is the real working tier: 4,000 credits, custom branding, detailed analytics and 10 custom domains. It is also the only plan where the advertised 28% annual saving is real.
  • Ultra at $100 monthly, $90 annually is for volume, not features. Twenty thousand credits and the most advanced models, but a 10% annual discount, so there is little reason to pay a year upfront.
  • Business at $40 a seat is the team answer, with SSO, a shared credit pool, 100 custom domains and a locked training opt-out. It is annual-only, with seats bought upfront rather than added as people join.
  • Skip it if your real need is a funnel with checkout, email automation and contact limits. Gamma publishes sites and decks; it is not a funnel platform, and the comparison in ClickFunnels versus Systeme.io is the right aisle for that job.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Gamma cost per month?

Billed monthly, Plus is $12, Pro is $25 and Ultra is $100 per seat per month. Billed annually the same plans are $9, $18 and $90 per seat per month, or $108, $216 and $1,080 a year. Free is $0. Checked October 28, 2026.

Is Gamma free?

There is a permanent free plan. It gives 400 credits at signup with no credit card and no time limit, up to 10 slides per prompt, import from PDF and PPTX, and export to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides. Those credits do not refill.

How many credits does one presentation use?

Gamma does not publish a figure. The help centre says generation is metered per slide and per image, and that the cost varies with the model, length and complexity. Image models show their credit cost before you generate; decks do not.

Do unused Gamma credits roll over?

Plan credits roll over up to 2× the monthly allowance, so Plus holds a maximum of 2,000. Free credits do not refresh at all. Purchased top-up credits are tracked separately and do not count toward the rollover cap.

What does Gamma Business cost and what does it add?

Business is $40 per seat per month, billed annually at $480 per seat, with no monthly option on that tab. It adds SSO, 10,000 credits per seat plus a shared workspace pool, 100 custom domains, SOC 2 documentation on request and a locked training opt-out.

Can I use the Gamma API on the free plan?

Yes. The developer docs say API keys are available on all plans including Free, and that the hosted MCP server works on any plan for OAuth clients. Usage is limited by your credits and plan limits rather than by a separate API price.

Does Gamma give refunds?

Only inside a narrow window. The request must come within three days of subscribing and your usage must be under the plan threshold: fewer than 200 credits on Plus, 600 on Pro, 1,000 on Business and 2,000 on Ultra. Run the free plan first.

Bottom line

Gamma is priced cleanly for what it is. The feature ladder is short, export is not held hostage on the free tier, and the API sits open on every plan, which is rarer than it sounds.

Two presentation choices undercut that. The cards open on the annual rate, so a monthly buyer reads $9 and pays $12. And the single number that actually drives the bill, the credit cost of a generation, is published nowhere.

For most buyers Pro is the plan that makes arithmetic sense: four times the credits of Plus for roughly twice the price, and the only tier where the advertised 28% annual saving holds. Ultra is volume insurance, not a discount.

Settle the refund terms before paying for a year. Three days and a credit threshold is not much room, which makes the free 400 credits the only risk-free way to judge the output. Start on the free plan and price up from the published rates.
