Leadpages vs Instapage: What Each Plan Limits

The two builders meter opposite things. Leadpages counts pages, domains and blogs while promising no traffic caps. Instapage counts unique monthly visitors while promising unlimited pages. Every tier number below comes from the vendors' own pricing pages, read October 20, 2026.

Leadpages vs Instapage: What Each Plan Limits

Leadpages and Instapage sit in the same category and meter almost nothing in common. Leadpages counts pages, custom domains, blogs and storage, and states on its pricing page that there are no traffic caps on any plan.

Instapage counts unique monthly visitors across every page you publish, and gives unlimited pages on all tiers.

That single difference decides which one gets cheaper as a campaign scales, and it also decides which tier you have to reach before you can run an A/B test. Every number below was read from the two pricing pages on October 20, 2026.

Leadpages meters pages, domains and blogs, not visitors

The Leadpages comparison table lists four plans. Pages run 25 on Pro, 50 on Business, Unlimited on Grow and Optimize. Custom domains with SSL run 1, 2, 4 and 6. Sites follow the same pattern, and blogs run 1, 2, 3, 5.

Asset storage is 5 GB, 10 GB, 15 GB and 25 GB. Monthly AI credits are 12,000, 20,000, 40,000 and 80,000. The page states plainly: "No traffic caps on any plan. No traffic overage fees."

One warning before you quote a Leadpages price. On October 20, 2026 the page printed two different sets at once, and we print both rather than pick.

  • Plan cards and comparison table, read October 20, 2026: Pro $15/mo, Business $25/mo, Grow $50/mo, Optimize $100/mo.
  • The same page's own FAQ text, same read: "Pro at $29/mo and Business at $49/mo", "Grow at $99/mo and Optimize at $199/mo, with Scale at $399/mo".
  • The browser tab title on that read: "Leadpages Pricing: Plans from $29/mo".
  • Annual billing is described as "Pay annually and save 20%", which does not reconcile the two sets either.

The FAQ also contradicts the table on pages, giving Grow "500 pages" and Optimize "1,000 pages" where the table says Unlimited. Treat the Leadpages page limit as a number to confirm in the checkout, not from the marketing copy.

Instapage meters unique monthly visitors, and the ladder is steep

Instapage names two self-serve plans and one sales-led plan. Create is listed at $99 per month, or $79 per month on annual billing, with "15,000 unique monthly visitors". Optimize is listed at $199 per month, or $159 annual.

Optimize is sold in two usage levels. The vendor's FAQ states it "comes with two usage options - standard, which covers 30k unique monthly visitors, and expanded, which includes 50k unique monthly visitors".

The full comparison table carries visitor columns of 15,000, 30,000, 50,000, 100,000 and Custom. Subdomains run 2, then 10, then Custom. Workspaces run 1, then 5, then Custom. Team members are 10 until the Convert plan makes them Custom.

Collections, which the page says each count as one published page, allow 15 pages per Collection on Create, 30 then 50 on Optimize, and Custom on Convert. Lists run 150, 300, 500, 1,000. Monthly email sends run 15,000, 30,000, 50,000.

Two limits are easy to miss. Daily API calls run 5,000, 10,000, 15,000 and 30,000. And the FAQ states custom usage is sold only above the expanded level, adding that "custom limits are currently available with annual contracts only".

A/B testing is gated on both, at different heights

On Leadpages, the comparison table marks "A/B testing (manual)" as Not included on Pro and Business, and Included from Grow upward. Multivariate testing (A/B/C/D), dynamic text replacement, Smart Traffic AI routing and heatmaps follow the same gate.

On Instapage, "Server-side A/B testing" appears in the Optimize card under "All Create features plus", so the $199 monthly tier is the entry point. Hypothesis setting, experimentation history, customizable traffic splitting and multi-step forms sit behind the same line.

So the cheapest tier on each platform that can split traffic is Grow on Leadpages and Optimize on Instapage. Using the Leadpages FAQ prices, that is $99 per month against $199 per month. Using the Leadpages card prices, it is $50 against $199.

The gate matters more than the headline price. Publishing a page you cannot test is a different product from testing one, which is the same trap described in how to read a funnel builder pricing page.

Run the cost per visitor, because the two models cross over

The arithmetic below is ours, built only from the figures above. Instapage Create at $99 per month with 15,000 unique monthly visitors works out to $6.60 per 1,000 visitors. At the annual $79, it is $5.27 per 1,000.

Instapage Optimize at $199 with 30,000 visitors is $6.63 per 1,000, and with the 50,000 expanded level it is $3.98 per 1,000. The rate improves as you climb, but you pay the next step before you need it.

Leadpages has no visitor denominator at all. At its FAQ price of $29 per month on Pro, 15,000 visitors would be $1.93 per 1,000, and 150,000 visitors would be $0.19 per 1,000, because the page states no traffic caps and no overage fees.

The crossover is pages, not traffic. Pro allows 25 pages and 1 custom domain. An agency running six clients needs six domains, which is the Optimize row, and the same trap as the contact row in what funnel builder contact limits actually count.

Check these rows before you put a card in

  • The unit being metered: visitors on Instapage, pages and domains on Leadpages. Only one of them scales with your ad spend.
  • The tier where split testing turns on, because that is the tier you will actually live on.
  • Subdomains versus custom domains. Instapage counts subdomains, 2 on Create and 10 on Optimize; Leadpages counts custom domains with SSL, 1 to 6.
  • Trial limits, not plan limits. Instapage states its free trial "comes with a traffic limit of 2500 unique monthly visitors" and that exceeding it ends the trial and starts the paid subscription.
  • Billing term. Instapage prints monthly and annual side by side; Leadpages describes annual as 20% off. Both patterns are covered in annual vs monthly billing for funnel builders.

The trial row deserves a second look. A credit card is required, and Instapage states the trial ends automatically once the 2,500-visitor limit is passed, moving you onto the plan you picked. That is the kind of item on the funnel builder free trial checklist.

Neither tool is the whole funnel

Both products publish pages. Neither sells the checkout, the course or the automation depth of an all-in-one builder, which is the trade compared in ClickFunnels vs systeme.io plans.

Instapage does include contacts and email. The cards list "Unlimited contacts" on every plan, with monthly sends capped at 15,000 on Create. Judge that allowance by the rows in how to read an email automation pricing page.

Leadpages lists blogs and sites rather than funnels, so the word unlimited appears against pages on Grow and above. Read it the way we read every other vendor's version of it in unlimited funnels is not unlimited.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper, Leadpages or Instapage?

Leadpages, at every tier we could read on October 20, 2026. Its cards show Pro at $15 per month and its own FAQ says $29, against Instapage Create at $99 monthly or $79 annual. Instapage buys you visitor headroom, not a lower price.

Does Leadpages limit traffic?

The pricing page states "No traffic caps on any plan. No traffic overage fees." It limits pages instead: 25 on Pro, 50 on Business, Unlimited on Grow and Optimize, although the same page's FAQ gives Grow 500 pages and Optimize 1,000.

What is Instapage's cheapest plan with A/B testing?

Optimize, listed at $199 per month or $159 on annual billing. Server-side A/B testing appears in the Optimize card under "All Create features plus", so Create at $99 cannot split traffic.

How many domains do you get on each plan?

Leadpages lists 1, 2, 4 and 6 custom domains with SSL across Pro, Business, Grow and Optimize. Instapage counts subdomains instead: 2 on Create, 10 on Optimize, Custom on Convert, with root domain publishing listed as a feature.

Why did you print two sets of Leadpages prices?

Because the page printed both on the same read. The cards and table showed $15, $25, $50 and $100 per month while the FAQ text said $29, $49, $99, $199 and $399. We could not reconcile them, so we quote both with the date.

Bottom line

Pick by the unit that will grow. If paid traffic grows, Leadpages charges for pages and states no traffic cap, so cost per visitor falls. If page count grows, Instapage sells unlimited pages and charges for visitors.

Then pick by the testing gate, because that is the real floor: Grow on Leadpages, Optimize on Instapage. Confirm the Leadpages number in checkout before you budget, since the page published two prices on October 20, 2026. Vendors revise both pages without notice.
